General Information

Patagonia Run is a mountain trail run race, non-stop, for individual runners, which includes 6 distances for all athlete profiles: from trail run debutants and short-distance runners to long ultra-marathon distances and slope experienced runners.

We have mountain sub- marathon distances: 10k, 21k, marathon distance: 42k, and ultra-marathon distances 70k, 110k, and 100 Miles.

The starting line for the 100Mi will be by the Lacar Lakeside, whereas the remaining distances will start, on the town outskirts.
San Martín de los Andes, located in the most beautiful part of Patagonia Argentina, will impress you with its breathtaking landscapes. We welcome you to be part of this challenging race in this wonderful setting.

THE RACE

Location: San Martin de los Andes, Neuquén, Argentinian Patagonia 
Date: Friday 3rd & Saturday 4th April 2020
Start line:
100 Miles start line Friday 3rd April at 10:00 a.m. at Lacar Lakeside, in town.
110k start line. Friday 3rd April 7:00 p.m. on the town outskirts.
70k start line Saturday 4th April 02:00 a.m. on the town outskirts.
42k start line Saturday 4th April 08:00 a.m. on the town outskirts.
21k start line Saturday 4th April 10:00 a.m. on the town outskirts.
10k start line Saturday 4th April 12:00 p.m. on the town outskirts.

Shuttle buses to the starting line will be offered to 110k, 70k, 42k, 21k and 10k runners, departing from Race office.

Note: GPS tracks of the race will not be shared. Please see FAQ .

Finish Line:
The arrival will be at the Civic Center of San Martin de los Andes, in front of South Dublin Pub, one of the favorite meeting points for Patagonia Run runners.

Maximum hours to finish the race will be the following: 38 hours for 100 Mi, 28:30 hours for 110k, and 22 hours for 70k. Deadline to cross finishing line for all distances is 11:59 pm.

Registration conditions for 100 Mi:
These include mandatory Organization admittance for each athlete, according to his/her sports curriculum and at least one the following requirements:
1. 12 ITRA points obtained in no more than 3 races during 2018 – 2019. At least one of these races must be of 110k or more (non-stop)
2. Having finished during 2018-2019 any UTWT race of over 120k (non-stop)
3. Having finished during 2018-2019 any of the following races:
-Patagonia Run 100k 2018 finished in a 21 hour or less
-Patagonia Run 100Mi 2018
-Patagonia Run 110k 2019 finished in a 26 hour or less
-Patagonia Run 100Mi 2018
-Any other race to the above mentioned, similar in length and altimetry, during 2018-2019. In this case, runners need to include race finishing timing (race results internet links) as proof in the pre-registration form when applying for admittance to the Organization Committee.

Mandatory Equipment

-Medical Certificate all distances. Download model certificate .
- Bib number visible from the front during the whole race for all distances.
-Emergency or signal whistles are mandatory for 21k, 42k, 70k, 110k, and 100Mi races.
-Mandatory Headlamps or handheld flashlight 100 lumens or more for 42k, 70k, 110k and 100Mi races, taking the following into consideration:
100Mi: 2 Headlamps or handheld flashlight: Participants must wear at least one from the start line. The second one might be in the Drop Bag sent to the Full Aid Station. It must be worn as from 5:00 pm (either on Friday 3rd or Saturday 4th) and turned on between 6:45 pm and 8:00 am.
70k and 110 k runners must start the race with headlamps ON, and keep them on until 8:00 am. As from 5:00 pm they must wear their headlamps again, and turn them on after 6:45 pm.
42k runners must wear their headlamps after 5:00pm and turn them on after 6:45 pm.
-Compulsory survival blanket for 110k and 100 Mi.
-Two 750 ml (25 oz) water bottles or soft flasks for 100Mi, and one for 110k.
- If temperatures below 10 degrees centigrade were forecasted in any part of the course, the Organization might require the following MANDATORY items in the runners` backpacks, for all distances:
- Long leggins or overpants
- Windproof outer layer
- Gloves
- Fleece or like sweatshirt
- Fleece or like shelter hat
This requirement will be confirmed during the technical brief the day before the race.

Note 2: 14 year-olds may participate in 10k distance having turned 14 by April 4, 2020.
Note 3: 16-year-olds may participate in 21k distance having turned 16 by April 4, 2020.
Note 4: 18-year-olds may participate in 42k and 70k distances having turned 18 by April 4, 2020.
Note 5: 18-year-olds may participate in 110k and 100 mile distances having turned 18 by April 3, 2020.

Note: Runners awarded prizes in the General Category will not be awarded prizes according to their Age Category, so that more runners con access awards.
4. Products provided by the Sponsors for the first three places in all categories: 10k, 21k, 42k, 70k, 110k and 100Mi races.
5. Finisher Medal for all participants who cross the finish line.

This discount can not be applied after you have registered.

DISTANCE CHANGES
Distance changes after regsitration will be allowed as long as there are available places in the new distance. Is this one is longer, the difference in registration fee at the moment of the change will have to be paid. No refunds will be made to runners who change to a shorter distance. In all cases, changes will have an administrative fee of U$S 20.

The following Patagonia Run Columbia Montrail 2020 runners will qualify to participate in the lottery to select runners for 100Mi Western States 2021:

-All 100Mi runners who finish the race.
-110k runners who finish the race in 27 hours or less.
